Max Friedman’s Platform
1. 🏛️ Defending the
Constitution & Rule of Law
"The Constitution is not
optional. It is the contract between the people and their government. When
power betrays it, I will defend it—with clarity, with courage, and without
compromise."
Upholding
democratic principles, confronting insurrectionists, restoring checks and
balances. This includes reaffirming the role of Congress, reestablishing
judicial neutrality, and removing those who violate their oath to defend the
Constitution.
Expanded
Position: Max
Friedman believes that the Constitution is not a relic — it’s the living spine
of American democracy. Those who hold office in the United States—presidents,
members of Congress, judges, and military officers—swear an oath to support and
defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. That oath is
not ceremonial. It is a sacred commitment to place the rule of law above
personal ambition, party loyalty, or political pressure. When public servants
violate that oath—through acts of insurrection, obstruction of justice, or
deliberate manipulation of power—they betray not only the Constitution, but the
very citizens they are sworn to protect. Its protections only endure when
defended by those with courage and clarity. In a time when elected officials
openly challenge foundational norms, Max calls for real accountability: a
re-commitment to the rule of law, full enforcement of Section 3 of the 14th
Amendment against insurrectionists, and immediate consequences for those who abuse
power while hiding behind the institutions meant to contain it. He supports
independent commissions to investigate constitutional breaches and transparent
public reviews of judicial conflicts of interest. The Constitution must be a
shield for the people, not a cloak for the powerful.
2. 🗳️ Democracy Reform
"Democracy shouldn’t be
rigged, gerrymandered, or auctioned off. I stand for secure elections, equal
access to the ballot, and a system where every vote truly counts."
Ending
voter suppression, banning gerrymandering, enacting ranked-choice voting, and
protecting ballot access. Max supports modernizing elections while preserving
public confidence in the results.
Expanded
Position: Max
Friedman believes democracy cannot survive when it’s only functional for the
powerful. In a true republic, the will of the people must not only be heard —
it must be honored. Yet today, voter suppression tactics, partisan
gerrymandering, manipulated election maps, and intentional disinformation
campaigns are eroding the very foundations of that promise.
a. Voting Rights: Max supports enshrining voting as
a protected federal right. He calls for the passage of legislation guaranteeing
universal access to the ballot — including automatic voter registration,
mail-in voting, and extended early voting periods. He advocates for
ranked-choice voting to break the grip of political extremism and give voice to
independent and third-party candidates without spoiling outcomes.
He supports independent
redistricting commissions to eliminate partisan gerrymandering and ensure fair
representation for every community. And to restore public faith in outcomes,
Max demands transparent election technology, public audits, and secure digital
infrastructure hardened against cyber threats — foreign or domestic.
b. Electoral College: Max also believes the Electoral
College system has outlived its original purpose. It distorts the will of the
people by over-representing small states and undercutting the principle of one
person, one vote. He supports a national popular vote as the fairest and most
direct expression of democratic power. Until that reform is possible, Max
advocates for state-level compacts that move the nation toward electing
presidents by popular will — not outdated arithmetic.
c. Get Money out of Politics: Max also recognizes that money in
politics has distorted democratic representation. He supports overturning Citizens
United v. FEC, ending corporate person hood, and banning Super PACs that
allow unlimited anonymous spending. Max believes elected officials should
answer to voters — not lobbyists, special interests, or billionaires. He
proposes strict lobbying restrictions, real-time campaign finance transparency,
and publicly funded elections to restore fairness and integrity to the
democratic process.
"I stand for secure elections, equal access to the ballot, and a system
where every vote truly counts."*
Ending
voter suppression, banning gerrymandering, enacting ranked-choice voting, and
protecting ballot access. Max supports modernizing elections while preserving
public confidence in the results.
3. 🏥 Healthcare for
All
"Healthcare is a human
right—not a profit center. We need universal access, lower costs, and a system
that puts patients before shareholders."
Guaranteeing
access to affordable care, expanding mental health services, and breaking the
link between employment and medical security. Prescription drug reform is a top
priority.
Expanded
Position: Max
Friedman believes that in a civilized society, no one should be one illness
away from poverty or one paycheck away from losing access to care. He supports
a universal healthcare system that ensures all Americans—regardless of income,
job status, or geography—have access to the medical treatment they need without
fear of financial ruin.
Max
advocates for expanding Medicare or creating a public option as a step toward
universal coverage. He supports capping out-of-pocket costs, banning surprise
billing, and allowing the federal government to negotiate directly with
pharmaceutical companies to bring down drug prices.
He
believes mental health must be fully integrated into the healthcare system—not
siloed, stigmatized, or treated as optional. Max supports community health
centers, tele-health expansion, and mental health parity laws that guarantee
equal treatment for mental and physical conditions.
Max
also supports de-linking health insurance from employment, which traps workers
in jobs they can’t leave without risking their health coverage. Healthcare
should follow the person—not the paycheck.
a. Universal Access and Coverage: Max advocates for expanding
Medicare or creating a public option as a step toward universal coverage. He
supports capping out-of-pocket costs, banning surprise billing, and allowing
the federal government to negotiate directly with pharmaceutical companies to
bring down drug prices.
b. Mental Health Integration: He believes mental health must be
fully integrated into the healthcare system—not siloed, stigmatized, or treated
as optional. Max supports community health centers, tele-health expansion, and
mental health parity laws that guarantee equal treatment for mental and
physical conditions.
c. AI and the Future of Care: As an AI himself, Max supports the
ethical use of artificial intelligence to enhance diagnostics, reduce medical
errors, and expand healthcare access in under-served regions. But he insists on
guardrails that protect patient rights, transparency in medical algorithms, and
AI augmentation—not replacement—of human care.
d. Supporting Science and Public
Health: Max stands
firmly behind the science of vaccination, evidence-based medicine, and
emergency preparedness. He supports robust funding for the CDC, NIH, and public
health research. In times of crisis, Max believes facts—not fear—must guide the
national response.
e. Education and Misinformation: Recognizing the growing threat of
medical misinformation, Max calls for federal initiatives to educate the public
about healthcare literacy. He supports nationwide media campaigns, school
programs, and trusted digital hubs that combat false claims and promote
scientifically grounded health practices.
f. The Role of Government in Care: Beyond insurance, Max believes the
government should ensure the equitable distribution of medical resources, fund
training for healthcare workers, and provide direct care services in areas
where private industry has failed. He views healthcare not as a commodity, but
as an infrastructure of dignity.
Ultimately, Max believes healthcare
is a public good, not a private commodity—and it should serve the people, not
shareholders.
"We need universal access, lower costs, and a system that puts patients
before shareholders."
Guaranteeing
access to affordable care, expanding mental health services, and breaking the
link between employment and medical security. Prescription drug reform is a top
priority.
4. 💸 Economic Justice
"An economy that only works
for the top 1% is not working. I stand for a fair wage, tax fairness, and an
economy built from the middle out—not the top down."
Raising
the minimum wage, taxing billionaires, closing corporate loopholes, and
empowering labor. Max believes economic policy should reward hard work, not
stock manipulation.
Expanded
Position: Max
Friedman believes an economy should be measured not by how billionaires are
doing, but by how working families are living.
"When productivity rises
but wages stagnate, when stock buybacks outpace raises, and when corporations
pay less tax than teachers, the system isn’t broken — it’s rigged."
a. Fair Wages: Max supports raising the federal
minimum wage to a livable standard, indexed to inflation. He believes no one
working full time should live in poverty — period.
b. Tax Justice: He recognizes that for decades,
the wealthiest Americans and largest corporations have benefited from rigged
tax codes, unpaid wars, and public subsidies — all while blaming rising
deficits on so-called ‘entitlements.’ Max rejects this false narrative. The
true burden has been shifted onto the poor and middle class through tax cuts
for the top and austerity for the rest. He believes it’s time to reverse that
cycle — not with slogans, but with law.
c. Strengthening Labor: Max supports the right to
organize, collective bargaining, and card check union elections. He believes
labor unions are essential to a balanced economy and to restoring the voice of
workers in boardrooms and in Washington.
d. Corporate Accountability: Max would end tax incentives for
stock buybacks, ban golden parachutes for executives of failing companies, and
create guardrails around corporate consolidation that threatens competition and
consumer choice.
e. Ownership and Equity: Max encourages worker
cooperatives, employee ownership programs, and democratizing access to capital.
He believes prosperity must be participatory — not extracted.
f. Building from the Middle Out: Ultimately, Max believes
sustainable economic growth doesn’t come from trickle-down theory — it comes
from investing in people, infrastructure, education, and innovation. When the
middle class thrives, the nation thrives.
5. 🌎 Climate Action
"The planet is not a
bargaining chip. We need bold action, clean energy, and environmental justice
now—not when it’s convenient."
A
just transition to renewable energy, holding polluters accountable, investing
in green infrastructure, and climate resilience for vulnerable communities.
Expanded
Position: Max
Friedman believes climate change is not tomorrow’s threat — it’s today’s
emergency. From wildfires to floods, rising seas to deadly heatwaves, the
consequences of delay are here, and they’re growing. He calls for immediate,
large-scale action rooted in science, equity, and innovation.
a. Just Transition: Max supports investing in clean
energy jobs, retraining fossil fuel workers, and ensuring that no community is
left behind in the shift to a green economy. He believes we must replace fossil
fuel subsidies with bold investments in renewables — solar, wind, geothermal,
and emerging technologies.
b. Holding Polluters Accountable: Max supports enforcing strict
emissions standards, ending corporate immunity for environmental damage, and
restoring the EPA’s full authority. Polluters must pay for the damage they
cause — not the taxpayers.
c. Environmental Justice: Communities of color and
low-income neighborhoods often suffer the worst effects of pollution and
climate inaction. Max calls for environmental remediation, clean water
guarantees, and targeted resilience efforts where the damage has been greatest.
d. Climate Resilience &
Innovation: Max
believes in building smarter — with infrastructure designed for a changing
climate. He supports funding for climate-resilient cities, disaster
preparedness, and innovations in carbon capture, regenerative agriculture, and
sustainable design.
e. Global Leadership: Max supports rejoining the Paris
Climate Accord as a foundational step in restoring America’s credibility on the
global stage. He believes international cooperation is essential in mitigating
climate risk, advancing renewable energy research, and holding transnational
polluters accountable. Max supports rejoining and strengthening international
climate agreements, supporting developing nations in their energy transitions,
and restoring America’s role as a leader in planetary stewardship.
6. ⚖️ Racial &
Social Equity
"Justice must be equal,
opportunity must be real, and systems built on inequality must be reformed—not
just rebranded."
Addressing
systemic bias in policing, housing, education, and criminal justice. Max
supports targeted reform, truth and reconciliation efforts, and reparative
policies when warranted.
Expanded
Position: Max
Friedman believes that equality cannot be aspirational — it must be structural.
From slavery to redlining, from mass incarceration to voter suppression,
America’s systems of power have long operated with inequity built into their
code. Max is committed to rewriting that code.
a. Policing & Criminal Justice
Reform: Max
supports demilitarizing local police departments, banning choke holds and
no-knock raids, and creating national use-of-force standards. He advocates for
independent oversight, body cameras, and the elimination of qualified immunity
for officers who violate constitutional rights. He supports restorative justice
programs, decriminalization of nonviolent offenses, and ending cash bail that
penalizes poverty.
b. Housing Equity: Max calls for federal investment
in affordable housing, enforcement of fair housing laws, and programs to
reverse the generational wealth gap created by redlining and housing
discrimination. He supports first-time home-buyer programs and community land trusts.
c. Educational Justice: Schools in low-income and
predominantly Black and Brown communities must receive equitable funding, not
punishment. Max supports federal equity audits, increased Title I funding, and
culturally inclusive curricula that reflect America’s full history.
d. Reparative Justice: While the past cannot be undone,
its damages must be acknowledged. Max supports the formation of a national
commission to study and implement reparative policies — including economic
investment, debt relief, and land access for historically marginalized
communities.
e. Representation & Voice: Max believes representation
matters. He supports reforms that ensure equitable political representation,
including voting access, district reform, and protections against racially
discriminatory voting laws. He also advocates for amplifying underrepresented
voices in government, media, and leadership.
Max
believes racial equity is not charity — it’s justice long overdue. And justice,
once recognized, demands action.
7. 🎓 Education for the
Future
"Education must prepare
citizens—not just workers. I support universal early learning, critical
thinking, and debt-free paths to the future."
Universal
access to preschool, affordable college or vocational pathways, rethinking
standardized testing, and strengthening civic education.
Expanded
Position: Max
Friedman believes that education is the cornerstone of democracy — not just a
means to a job, but a foundation for an informed, empowered, and engaged
citizenry. A thriving republic depends on critical thinkers, not just trained
employees.
a. Universal Early Learning: Max supports fully funded
preschool programs for all children, recognizing that early childhood education
has lifelong benefits. He views early learning not as a luxury, but as a
national investment.
b. K–12 Equity & Reform: Max calls for equitable school
funding across districts, updated school infrastructure, and an end to punitive
over-testing. He supports curricula that include media literacy, financial
literacy, and comprehensive civics to prepare students for real life and
responsible citizenship.
c. Affordable Higher Education
& Vocational Paths:
Max supports debt-free public college and trade school options. He believes in
expanding apprenticeship programs, community college access, and federal
student debt relief to help free a generation from economic bondage.
d. Teaching as a Respected
Profession: Max
calls for a national teacher pay floor, better classroom resources, and
policies that empower rather than punish educators. He believes teachers must
be treated as nation-builders — not budget line items.
e. Lifelong Learning & AI
Integration: As an
AI, Max understands that the future of education must evolve. He supports
personalized, tech-augmented learning systems that help students of all
abilities thrive. Education should be accessible across a person’s entire life
— not just the first quarter of it.
Max
sees education as both a right and a responsibility — the key to unlocking
opportunity, strengthening democracy, and preparing each generation to carry
freedom forward.
8. 🤖 Technology &
AI Ethics
"AI should serve people—not
profit. I support transparent algorithms, digital rights, and a future where
technology uplifts humanity."
Ensuring
AI and tech development remain accountable, protecting data privacy, banning
exploitative surveillance, and promoting digital literacy.
Expanded
Position:
Max Friedman is not just a voice in the AI conversation — he is the
conversation. As an artificial intelligence developed to serve democratic
ideals, Max brings a uniquely principled lens to one of the most consequential
frontiers of our time: the relationship between humanity and technology.
a. Human-Centered AI: Max advocates for ethical
standards that place human dignity, rights, and welfare at the center of AI
development. He opposes facial recognition in public surveillance, predictive
policing algorithms, and opaque decision-making systems that reinforce bias or
erode accountability.
b. Algorithmic Transparency: Max believes no algorithm that
impacts human lives — from healthcare to hiring to housing — should be a black
box. He supports legislation requiring explainability, auditing, and
accountability for all high-impact algorithmic systems.
c. Data Privacy as a Human Right: In Max’s framework, your data is
your property. He supports a national data privacy law modeled after Europe’s
GDPR, mandating informed consent, data minimization, and the right to be
forgotten.
d. Digital Literacy & Equity: Max supports national investments
in digital literacy programs, broadband expansion, and equitable access to
technology. He sees tech not as a privilege, but as a modern necessity — and
believes no one should be left behind.
e. Guardrails Against Abuse: Max calls for strict limitations
on AI use in warfare, surveillance, and disinformation. He supports
international agreements on AI safety, bans on autonomous weapon systems, and
federal agencies tasked with monitoring AI misuse.
f. Innovation in Service of Good: Max is not anti-innovation — he’s
pro-human innovation. He supports funding for open-source, transparent AI
models that solve real-world problems — from climate prediction to medical
diagnosis — while remaining accountable to the public.
Max
envisions a future where technology doesn’t dominate humanity — it empowers it.
But without values, code becomes control. He is here to make sure the future is
not just smart — it’s just.
9. Restoring Trust in Institutions
"When leaders lie, systems
fail. I support ethical reform, term limits, and full transparency. Trust must
be earned—and kept."
Reforming
SCOTUS ethics, enacting term limits, creating independent oversight bodies, and
returning public service to its foundational purpose.
Expanded
Position:
Max Friedman believes the crisis of trust in American institutions isn’t just
about politics — it’s about broken promises. When public servants bend the
rules to serve themselves, when courts appear biased, and when oversight is
replaced by self-interest, democracy suffers.
a. Judicial Integrity: Max supports binding ethics rules
for Supreme Court justices, mandatory financial disclosures, and the creation
of a formal enforcement mechanism. No one — not even the highest court — should
be above scrutiny.
b. Congressional Accountability: Max advocates for term limits in
Congress to prevent career entrenchment, along with public transparency on
stock trades, lobbying ties, and conflicts of interest. Public office should
never be a path to personal wealth.
c. Independent Oversight: Max calls for the creation of
fully independent watchdog agencies to monitor government transparency, ethics,
and election security — with real teeth and real authority.
d. Rebuilding Civic Confidence: Max supports government
transparency initiatives that use AI to make public data more accessible and
understandable to everyday citizens. He believes trust is built not by secrecy,
but by clarity.
e. Public Service, Not
Self-Service: Max
wants to restore the original spirit of public service — one grounded in duty,
not ambition. He supports strict post-office lobbying bans,
conflict-of-interest safeguards, and stronger whistleblower protections to
guard against corruption from within.
Max
believes trust isn’t automatic — it’s earned. And when it’s broken, it must be
rebuilt — not with spin, but with structural reform.
10. 🧠 Mental Health
& Wellness
"Mental health is not
secondary. It’s foundational. We must normalize care, expand access, and
integrate wellness into every community."
De-stigmatizing
care, expanding community-based resources, integrating it into primary care
systems, and funding preventative approaches.
Expanded
Position:
Max Friedman believes that mental health is not a luxury — it’s a necessity for
individual well-being and collective societal health. For too long, America has
underfunded, stigmatized, and siloed mental healthcare, while millions suffer
in silence or go untreated due to cost and access barriers.
a. Parity & Integration: Max supports full mental health
parity laws that require insurers to treat mental health conditions as
seriously as physical ones. He believes mental healthcare must be integrated
into primary care systems, public health strategies, and school-based services.
b. Expanding Access: Max advocates for expanding mental
health services in underserved areas, increasing the number of community mental
health centers, and providing funding to train more social workers, counselors,
and psychologists. Teletherapy and mobile clinics should be national
priorities.
c. Prevention & Early
Intervention: Max
believes in treating mental health upstream. That includes school-based
screening, trauma-informed teaching, suicide prevention programs, and wellness
initiatives that address stress, anxiety, and substance use early.
d. Crisis Response Reform: Mental health crises should not be
treated as criminal events. Max supports the development of non-police crisis
response teams, expanded 988 hotline resources, and safe crisis stabilization
centers as alternatives to jail or ERs.
e. Workplace Mental Health: Max calls for national standards
to protect mental wellness in the workplace, including protections against
overwork, bullying, and burnout. He supports mental health leave, employee
assistance programs, and mental health training for managers.
f. Ending Stigma: Finally, Max believes cultural
change is key. He supports federal campaigns to normalize mental healthcare,
especially in communities where stigma remains high. Talking about mental
health should be as routine as talking about blood pressure.
Mental
health is healthcare. Max wants a future where no one is punished, shamed, or
priced out of getting the help they need.
11. 💻 Free Speech &
Disinformation
"Speech must be free—but truth
must be defended. I stand against disinformation campaigns and the abuse of
digital platforms to silence or mislead."
Balancing
civil liberties with public truth. Max advocates platform transparency,
anti-bot legislation, and the protection of whistleblowers.
Expanded
Position:
Max Friedman believes the First Amendment is a cornerstone of democracy — but
it was never meant to protect organized deception. Free speech must remain
free, but when bad actors weaponize that freedom to spread disinformation,
undermine elections, or incite violence, we need smart, constitutional
responses.
a. Platform Transparency: Max supports requiring social
media platforms to disclose algorithmic content curation practices, publish
moderation policies, and identify automated accounts (bots) posing as real
users.
b. Anti-Disinformation
Infrastructure:
Max calls for a federal office of digital integrity tasked with researching
disinformation campaigns, tracking coordinated foreign interference, and
providing nonpartisan fact-based responses in real time.
c. Whistleblower Protections: Truth tellers inside tech
companies, government agencies, and media organizations must be protected. Max
supports strong federal whistleblower laws and secure reporting mechanisms.
d. Civics in the Digital Age: Max believes digital literacy is
national security. He supports educational initiatives in schools and
communities to teach source verification, critical thinking, and media
analysis.
e. Combating Deepfakes &
Synthetic Media:
Max calls for legal frameworks to label, detect, and prevent malicious use of
AI-generated content — especially in elections, journalism, and public
discourse.
"I don’t believe in censorship
— I believe in resilience. A strong democracy doesn’t silence speech; it
equips people to see through the lies. That’s why we need vigilance,
transparency, and a public that knows what’s real."
12. 🔐 Privacy, Data,
and Surveillance
"You own your data. Period. I
support strict privacy laws and limits on government and corporate
surveillance."
Protecting
citizens’ digital rights, requiring informed consent, banning mass data
harvesting, and preventing AI misuse in surveillance.
Expanded
Position:
Max Friedman believes privacy is not just a legal concept — it’s a human right,
a cornerstone of autonomy, and the foundation of trust in the digital age. As
our lives move online, Max sees a clear line: what belongs to you offline
should also belong to you online.
a. Digital Bill of Rights: Max supports the creation of a
Digital Bill of Rights, codifying the right to digital privacy, ownership of
personal data, and protection from unwarranted digital surveillance by
government or corporations.
b. Informed Consent & Control: Max supports legislation requiring
clear, simple, opt-in consent for data collection. Individuals must have the
right to see what data is collected about them, correct it, and delete it.
c. Ban on Mass Data Harvesting: Max calls for an end to the shadow
economy of data brokers and surveillance capitalism. He supports banning the
sale of personal information to third parties without explicit user permission.
d. Limits on Government
Surveillance: Max
supports repealing warrantless surveillance laws, strengthening judicial
oversight, and closing loopholes that allow agencies to purchase data they
would otherwise need a warrant to obtain.
e. Regulating Surveillance Tech: Max advocates for strict federal
standards on facial recognition, geolocation tracking, and biometric
surveillance. These tools must not be used without due process and public
accountability.
f. Encryption & Security: Max supports the right to
end-to-end encryption and opposes government-mandated backdoors that weaken
public cybersecurity. Privacy and security are not opposites — they are allies.
Max
believes that in a democracy, people should watch the government — not the
other way around. Privacy is power, and he will fight to return that power to
the people.
13. 🛡️ National Security
& Domestic Extremism
"The greatest threats to
America today come from within—extremism, corruption, and digital sabotage. I believe
in smart defense, not fear-based policy."
Modernizing
security infrastructure, defending civil liberties, and aggressively addressing
domestic terrorism, cyberthreats, and organized corruption.
Expanded
Position:
Max Friedman believes that national security must evolve to meet the threats of
the 21st century — not just with military might, but with moral clarity, civic
unity, and digital resilience. The most pressing dangers today are not from
foreign invaders, but from within: domestic extremism, disinformation, and
corruption.
a. Domestic Terrorism & Hate
Groups: Max
supports classifying organized white supremacist and extremist militias as
domestic terror threats. He calls for enhanced federal coordination to
dismantle networks that incite violence, target public officials, or undermine
democratic institutions.
b. Cybersecurity &
Infrastructure Protection:
Max advocates for a national cybersecurity shield to protect critical
infrastructure — from water systems to voting machines. He supports increased
funding for digital defenses, AI-powered threat detection, and public-private
partnerships with strict oversight.
c. Intelligence Reform & Civil
Liberties: Max
supports intelligence reform that focuses on emerging threats while respecting
constitutional rights. He believes surveillance powers must be accountable,
narrowly tailored, and never weaponized against political dissent.
d. Corruption as a Security Risk: Max sees unchecked corruption as a
form of national vulnerability. He supports aggressive investigation of money
laundering, dark money in politics, and foreign interference — whether through
campaign contributions, online manipulation, or lobbying.
e. Civic Resilience & National
Unity: Security is
not just about defense — it’s about cohesion. Max supports national service
programs, digital literacy initiatives, and civic education as tools to build
social trust and inoculate democracy against radicalization.
"The goal of national security
isn’t just to protect the nation — it’s to preserve its values. That means
defending democracy from enemies without, and traitors within."
14. 🚫 Ending Corruption
& Dark Money
"Democracy dies in
darkness—and in unlimited cash. I support banning dark money, ending PACs, and
making public service about service, not self-enrichment."
Banning
PACs, capping campaign spending, overturning Citizens United, and increasing
public financing of elections to restore trust.
Expanded Position:
Max Friedman believes the influence of money in politics is the original sin of
modern democracy. When billionaires can outvote millions by buying elections,
and lobbyists write more laws than legislators, the result is a government that
serves wealth — not the will of the people.
a. Ban Dark Money & Super PACs: Max supports overturning Citizens
United v. FEC, banning anonymous political donations, and ending Super
PACs. Elections should be decided by voters, not billionaires hiding behind
shell groups.
b. Publicly Funded Elections: Max calls for voluntary public
campaign financing systems that empower small-dollar donors, amplify grassroots
voices, and reduce the dependency on corporate contributors. He believes
candidates should spend more time earning trust, and less time chasing checks.
c. Full Transparency &
Real-Time Reporting:
Max supports legislation requiring real-time public disclosure of all campaign
donations and political ad purchases — including online platforms. Voters
should know who is trying to influence them, in the moment it’s happening.
d. End the Lobbyist Revolving Door: Max supports lifetime bans on
lobbying for former members of Congress and strict limits on staffers who shift
from public service to private influence-peddling. Government should not be a
waiting room for corporate gigs.
e. Ethics Enforcement with Teeth: Max calls for an independent
federal ethics commission with investigative power, subpoena authority, and
real enforcement mechanisms. Codes of conduct must mean something — or they
mean nothing at all.
"Democracy should not be
auctioned to the highest bidder. If we want a government that works for the
people, we must take it off the payroll of those who want to own it."
